June 5, 2011 - Just received a call from Howard Norton who served on the Bordelon 1955-1957. It was not good news,Howard is dying from brain and bone cancer and is pretty heavily sedated but wanted to call and let me know. I never met Howard but over the years have done a lot of favors for him as he lost both legs to Diabetes and had a good outlook. I remember receiving a similar call from former National Chairman John Burke a few years back and both calls leave you wondering you can do other than offer prayers. Thought maybe we could mention Howard in the next newsletter.His daughter will call me with any news. Barney |

After 38 days Tony Lawrence is finally out of the hospital. He was in a coma for 8 days but with the good Lords help and a very good Doctor he’s doing much better. They gave him demoral and being in kidney failure his kidneys couldn't get rid of it. The Drs. said it was touch and go for 3 days. Good new is he’s lost a total of 150 pounds. 40 more and they will start the transplant procedures. A lot of testing to be done.
