Letter I sent my congressman…… Dear Congressman: As a Many onboard the ship on which I served suffer from similar symptoms but are unable to substantiate they are caused directly from Agent Orange because we served our country on water. A number are suffering solely from neuropathy. Some of us have developed diabetes with no family history and our neuropathy is well advanced beyond our diabetes. In the shop I served in 6 out of 8 members have severe diabetes, some with loss of limbs. I adhere to a very good regime with my diabetes and have my blood sugars under control, yet I am suffering from advanced neuropathy and in a very short time reached the point where my neuropathy has stolen all feeling from my feet and lower limbs. Far beyond were it should be. The devastating effects of this herbicide are well documented. There are many that are being denied the medical care needed to possibly arrest its advance simply because a few miles of water separated them from terra firma but not from the ill winds that sowed the poisons far into the blue water seas.
