Capt. Earl Peck FINNEY, Jr., USN (ret.) June 15, 1910 - November 23, 2006 Capt. Earl Finney passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2006 surrounded by his loving family.


Born in 1910 in Annapolis, MD, he was a 1932 graduate of the Naval Academy and received a Master of Science degree in Meteorology from MIT in 1941. He served in the Pacific in WW II with MacArthur's amphibious forces earning many medals, including a Legion of Merit.


During his military tenure, he commanded three ships (a destroyer, a fleet oiler, and an amphibious transport) with his final assignment being the Comptroller of the Thirteenth Naval District at Sand Point, WA.


Capt. Finney retired from military service in 1960 and went on to work as an engineer for Boeing until he retired in 1969.


 In September of 1942, he married Isabelle Breingan, who passed peacefully in his presence in July of 2003. He was a beloved father of four, Earl P. Finney, III (Pam), Susan Morry (G. Richard), Robert Finney (Kathy), all of Seattle, and Christine Connally (Michael) of Marysville, WA.


He will also be missed greatly by his grandchildren, Nicole Morry and Noelle Figueira (Brandon) of Seattle; Danielle Finney (Philip Lucas-Smith) of Canberra, Australia; Robert Finney (Cally) and Susie Finney of Lindale, TX; Capt. Michael Connally, USMC (Charlsie) of San Diego, CA; David Finney (Jennifer) of Dayton, WA; and Bob Connally of Marysville, WA.


He was blessed with four great grandchildren, Sampson and Oliver Finney of Lindale, TX as well as Mason and Isaac Finney of Dayton, WA.
